Jeep Heritage

The Jeep® heritage stretches back to the U.S. military's earliest involvement in WWII. Tough, capable, and incredibly flexible, the plucky little Jeep (Willys Quad, Willys MA, Willys MB) became the vehicle of choice for everything from reconnaissance scout to ambulance and utility workhorse. General Dwight "Ike" Eisenhower acknowledged its importance, claiming that, "The Jeep, the Dakota (C-47 aircraft) and the Landing Craft were the three tools that won the war..."

In the decades following WWII, Jeep vehicles spread quickly to military and commercial customers around the world. Jeep built roads and highways, worked on ranches and farms, and remained the indispensable military utility vehicle of choice.

Now the world's iconic military vehicle is back

Based on the legendary Wrangler, Jeep engineers have developed a new vehicle optimized for the most demanding government, military and security applications. Tested to a duty cycle three times more demanding than the Wrangler, the new J8 is the toughest and most capable 4x4 light utility vehicle ever built, and destined to write new chapters in military history.
